An eight-channel S-BUS/S.BUS2 decoder for connecting up to eight conventional servos to the S-BUS or S.BUS2 serial bus, suitable for analog and digital servos with 4.8-7.4V power supply (4-6 NiMH, 2S LiPo, LiFe cells). The decoder and servos can be powered from the receiver or from a separate battery connected to the decoder. The operation of the decoder is indicated by an LED.
The output channel assignment of the SBD-2
can be changed with a switch on the decoder in 9 possible combinations, so that connected conventional servos will respond to the control signal of a given channel.
( Table in the appendix with photos )
Using the decoder: the SBD-2 input is connected to the receiver's S.BUS or S.BUS2 port (or to a splitter connected to the S.BUS/S.BUS2 port), and conventional servos (analog and digital) are connected to the outputs. It is also possible to connect S.BUS/S.BUS2 servos; in this case, the S.BUS/S.BUS2 servo will operate as a conventional servo on the channel set for the SBD-2 output, not on the channel stored in the servo memory.
Using the decoder: the SBD-2 input
is connected to the receiver's S.BUS or S.BUS2 port (or to a hub connected to the S.BUS/S.BUS2 port), and the outputs are connected to conventional servos (analog and digital). It is also possible to connect S.BUS/S.BUS2 servos; in this case, the S.BUS/S.BUS2 servo will operate as a conventional servo on the channel set for the SBD-2 output, not on the channel stored in the servo memory.
Power supply for the decoder and servos
If a large number of powerful servos are not used, the decoder and servos can be powered directly from the receiver via the decoder input cable connected to the receiver's S.BUS/S.BUS2 port. If a large number of servos and powerful/fast servos with high current consumption are used, it is recommended to use a separate power supply for the servos - in this case, the shorting jumper is removed from the decoder's power socket, and a battery is connected in its place to power the connected servos. This allows easy implementation of separate power supply for servos (even in several circuits using multiple decoders) without the need for any switchboards/boxes.
