The DLPH-1 receiver power and backup system allows switching power from a pair of LiFe or LiPo batteries and communication between two Futaba S.BUS2 receivers. It provides power to up to 18 high-power servos (max 60A total) and switching between the main and backup Futaba S.BUS2 receivers in case of signal loss, and allows telemetry monitoring of the voltage of the two batteries supplying the Futaba transmitter display. The DLPH-1 is equipped with four legs with silent blocks for easy installation in the model.

Power system

The power supply uses a pair of (identical) 2S LiFe or LiPo batteries; the DLPH-1 ensures that both are evenly discharged - the on-board electronics are always powered by the battery with the higher voltage. The voltage at the servo outputs corresponds to the voltage of the power batteries - i.e. when using 2S LiPo batteries, it is necessary to use high-voltage (HV) servos; when powered by a pair of LiFe batteries, it is also possible to use classic servos. The DLPH-1 is equipped with an electronic power switch - it can be turned off and on with an external mechanical switch (the DLPH-1 will remain on even if the external switch is disconnected or its wires are broken). The DLPH-1 also supplies power to connected S.BUS2 receivers (5 V).

Note: Due to the electronic switch between batteries and output sockets for servos, it is necessary to connect a PAD reverse current absorber (min. 1 pc. per 8 servos) when using Hitec alternating servos.

Receiver backup system

A pair of Futaba S.BUS2 receivers are connected to the DLPH-1 via S.BUS2 ports (they do not have to be of the same type); the backup system provides a switchover to the backup receiver in case the main receiver loses transmitter signal or is exposed to strong interference. When normal is restored, it switches back to the main receiver. When using a transmitter that supports the dual receiver function (dual receiver), the main receiver is paired with the transmitter as receiver 1 and the backup receiver as receiver 2. For a transmitter that does not support this function, the main Receiver is paired with the transmitter first and the backup receiver second.

Telemetry functions

The DLPH-1 allows connection of all Futaba telemetry sensors via the S.BUS2 port. In addition, it acts as a dual voltage sensor (default start address 6) allowing monitoring of the voltage of both power batteries on the transmitter's display and low voltage warning signal.

DLPH-1 inputs and outputs

The DLPH-1 provides power and connections for servos and other devices, including gyroscopes, telemetry sensors, etc., so that receivers are connected only through the S.BUS2 ports - no servos or other devices are connected to them.

  • S.BUS2 communication ports for receivers (RX1, RX2): A pair of S.BUS2 ports for connecting the main and backup receiver. The voltage on the (+) pins of the ports is 5.0
  • V. Input/Output Port S.BUS2 (SB2): For telemetry sensors, S.BUS2 gyroscope, etc.
  • The voltage on the (+) pin of the socket corresponds to the voltage of the power batteries. Power sockets (BATT1/BATT2): Sockets for power batteries with XT60 connectors.
  • Socket for external switch: For a special external switch.
  • S.BUS output port (SB): Socket for connecting an S.BUS server. The voltage on the (+) pin of the socket corresponds to the voltage of the power batteries.
  • S.BUS2 output port (SB2): Socket for connecting servos. The voltage on the (+) pin of the socket corresponds to the voltage of the power batteries
  • Speed controller output port (CH3): Special CH3 gas channel socket for connecting an electronic speed controller. The voltage on the (+) pin of the socket corresponds to the voltage of the power batteries (when using a regulator with a BEC power stabilizer, it is necessary to disconnect the red (+) wire in the servo power supply cable.) regulator).
  • 18 sockets for servos: Output sockets with PWM signal for classic servos for channels 1-18. The voltage on the contacts (+) of the sockets corresponds to the voltage of the power batteries.

The DLPH-1 kit includes:

  • DLPH-1 backup device,
  • external switch,
  • 2 receiver connection cables,
  • mounting accessories.
