Top programmable microprocessor controller for AC motors without sensors ("brushless, sensorless") built using the capabilities of state-of-the-art semiconductor technology with excellent performance characteristics and extensive programming and setup capabilities. It is used to control the speed of AC electric motors in larger and giant model aircraft or helicopters when powered by LiPo/Li-ion/LiFe batteries. It is designed for the high load capacity and durability required in competitive and large models. For helicopters, it offers an advanced regulator function with a range of adjustable parameters for constant speed control. It features a high-performance pulsed BEC power stabilizer with adjustable output voltage to provide power to the receiver and servos from the propulsion battery.

CONTROLLER DESCRIPTION AND FUNCTIONS

  • Suitable for the vast majority of aircraft AC motors powered by 6-14S LiPo/Li-ion/LiFe batteries
  • High-performance microprocessor for precise regulator function (maintaining constant speed) and super soft start
  • Special microprocessor power stabilizer for high noise immunity and reduced risk of loss of control
  • Optimized DEO (Driving Efficiency Optimization) control technology significantly improves throttle response and power stage control efficiency, reducing regulator temperature.
New switchable power regulator BEC with adjustable output voltage in the range of 5-12 V and load capacity of 10 A continuous / 30 A peak
  • The BEC is isolated from the rest of the regulator's circuitry, and can maintain proper operation even if the regulator's MOSFET power supply board burns out
  • Extensive programming capabilities with a wide range of adjustable functions and parameters
  • Flight modes: Plane, Helicopter (Linear Throttle), Helicopter (Express Governor), Helicopter (Store Governor)
  • New governor program with adjustable P/I governor parameters provides excellent constant RPM maintenance, guarantees stable carrier rotor rotation even under sudden load changes
  • Flight data logger records RPM, minimum voltage and maximum temperature during flight
  • The "autorotate restart" function can manually interrupt autorotation and quickly restart the engine to avoid failure caused by improper model control
  • Independent output port for tachometer signals in helicopter modes
  • Special programming port for controller programming or parameter setting
  • Multifunction LCD programming box or OTA module with Bluetooth
  • Supports online data checking, controller programming, firmware update on PC or smartphone/tablet (requires multifunction LCD programming box or OTA module)
  • OTA module with Bluetooth (sold separately) for wireless controller programming via smartphone (iOS or Android)
  • A range of protection functions: start-up protection, controller thermal protection, capacitor thermal protection, overload protection, overcurrent protection and control signal loss protection.

PROGRAMMABLE FUNCTIONS

  • Flight mode: Allows selection of programs for aircraft, helicopter (with linear throttle control), helicopter (with Express regulator) or helicopter (with Store regulator)
  • Number of LiPo cells: the regulator offers automatic detection of the number of cells or its manual setting
  • Method of disconnecting the motor when voltage protection is triggered: The controller will gradually reduce power to 50% of full power within 3 seconds of voltage protection tripping if "Power Limiting" mode is selected. If "Hard Shutdown" mode is selected, the motor is immediately shut down
  • PCO - Voltage Protection: The threshold level of voltage protection is adjustable in the range of 2.8-3.8 V/cell
  • BEC voltage: The BEC voltage of the power stabilizer can be adjusted from 5.0 to 12.0 V in steps of 0.1 V
  • Start-up time: The start-up time is adjustable from 4 to 25 s in steps of 1 s
  • Regulator parameter P: Determines the ability of the regulator to maintain a stable speed
  • Regulator parameter I: Determines the dynamic response of the regulator
  • Auto restart time: In Helicopter (Express/Store Governor) modes, the controller shuts down the engine when the throttle is between 25 and 40%. If you add throttle above 40% during the set auto restart time, the engine will start quickly and (during the set restart acceleration time) accelerate to the rpm corresponding to the current throttle value. If you add throttle above 40% after the set auto restart time, the controller will go into soft start mode
  • Restart Acceleration Time: adjustable from 1 to 3 s in 0.5 s increments. This function determines the time required to restart the engine and accelerate to full speed in Helicopter (Express/Store Governor) modes
  • Brake: Sets the propeller brake function on model aircraft - off, normal.
Brake intensity: adjustable from 0 to 100% in 1% steps for normal brake mode
  • Time: adjustable from 0 to 30° in 1° steps
  • Motor rotation direction: clockwise/counterclockwise
  • DEO Idle: this function can be enabled or disabled in airplane or helicopter (linear throttle) modes to achieve better throttle response linearity.

CONTROLLER PROTECTION FUNCTIONS

  • Start-up protection: The regulator measures the engine speed during startup. If the speed stops rising or its increase is not stable, the controller evaluates this as an abnormal start. If the throttle is less than 15% at this point, the controller will automatically try to restart the engine; if the throttle opening is greater than 15%, fully lower the throttle to restart the engine
  • Regulator thermal protection: If the temperature of the controller exceeds 110°C, the controller will gradually reduce power, but will not completely shut down the motor. To ensure that the motor maintains the specified power and does not cause an accident, the maximum power limitation is about 50% of full power. As the temperature of the controller decreases, the controller will gradually restore maximum power. In addition, when switching on, the temperature of the controller must not exceed 70°C, otherwise it will not be possible to start the engine
  • Loss of throttle signal: the controller will shut down the engine if the lack of signal lasts 0.25 seconds, to prevent even more damage and danger from the rapidly rotating rotor or propeller. When a normal signal is received, the controller returns to normal operation.
Overload protection: the controller automatically shuts down the motor or restarts when its load suddenly increases to a very high value. (Possible cause: blockage of the propeller or rotor)
  • Overcurrent protection: the controller shuts down the motor if the current approaches the short-circuit current value. This protection can be activated by a short circuit in a burned motor or for other reasons

Note: When turning on the device for the first time, first calibrate the gas range according to the instructions. Only then can you use the controller and set other parameters using the Multifunction LCD programmer or OTA module with Bluetooth.
