A new generation of programmable microprocessor controllers for ac motor without sensors ("brushless, sensorless") for large models of recreational and sports aircraft powered by Li-poly / Li-ion / Li-Fe batteries. Compared to the previous generations of FLYFUN controllers, the programming options have been extended with a number of functions that have proven themselves in the top Platinum series controllers. The design of the controller takes into account the high long-term load capacity and durability required in large models. The power part of the controller is galvanically separated from the control electronics to ensure high immunity to interference at high operating currents and high supply voltage. The controller does not have a power stabilizer for the receiver and servos. A special LED programming card from Hobbywing for programming, available in our store, is used to easily adjust the controller.
CONTROLLER DESCRIPTION AND FUNCTIONS:
- The controller is equipped with a high-performance 32-bit ARM M4 microprocessor with a clock frequency of up to 72 MHz; it is compatible with most AC motors.
- Suitable for most aircraft with 6-14S LiPo / Li-ion / LiFe battery powered AC motors.
- A special power stabilizer for the microprocessor provides high noise immunity and reduces the risk of loss of control.
- The DEO (Driving Efficiency Optimization) technology significantly improves the gas response and the efficiency of the power stage control, lowers the temperature of the controller.
- Power section galvanically separated by an optoelectronic element.
- The Normal / Soft / Very Soft take-off modes are suitable for regular propeller planes as well as models with turbines.
- Easy to program and set up with the Hobbywing transmitter or LED programming card.
- A special programming cable for connecting the controller to the LED programming card allows the user to program the controller at any time and place (details in the Hobbywing LED programming card manual).
- A number of protection functions: start-up protection, controller thermal protection, capacitor thermal protection, overload protection, overcurrent protection, protection against incorrect supply voltage and protection against loss of the control signal effectively extends the life of the controller.
- Gas span calibration for a perfect match to the control signal from the RC kit.
PROGRAMMABLE FUNCTIONS:
- Brake type: disengaged brake, normal brake (with 7-stage brake intensity adjustment), proportional brake (throttle control: 0-20% of the accelerator pedal deflection corresponds to 100-0% braking, 20-100% rudder deflection corresponds to 0-100% throttle ).
- Braking force: The braking force can be adjusted from level 1 to level 7 in "normal braking" mode.
- Motor disconnection method: Soft shutdown: The controller gradually reduces the power to 50% of full power within 3 seconds of activation of the voltage protection. Hard shutdown: the engine shuts down immediately.
- LiPo cell count: We recommend manual setting of 100% reliable voltage protection function. The controller automatically calculates the number of cells of the connected battery according to the principle of "3.7 V per cell" if automatic detection is selected.
- Voltage protection: The threshold level of voltage protection is adjustable between 2.8-3.8V / cell; the protection can also be completely disabled.
- Starting: Normal start (immediate start), Soft start (slow start for engines with large propellers, gearbox or smaller turbines). Very soft start (with a very slow start for engines with large propellers, gears or turbines from 90 mm).
- Time: adjustable from 0-30 °.
- Direction of rotation: clockwise / counterclockwise.
- DEO freewheel: This function can be turned on or off; may result in better linearity or a smoother gas response.
PROTECTIVE FUNCTIONS OF THE REGULATOR:
- Start-up protection: The governor measures the engine speed during start-up. If the speed stops increasing or the speed increase is not stable, the controller evaluates this as a faulty start. If the throttle is less than 15% at this point, the controller will automatically try to restart the engine; if the throttle is greater than 15%, pull it all the way to restart the engine.
- Controller thermal protection: The motor "stall" when the controller temperature exceeds 110 ° C, which means that the thermal protection has tripped. If at this point you pull the throttle below 60%, the stall will disappear and the regulator will deliver the power corresponding to the throttle position. If you move the throttle above 60%, the "stall" reappears. The controller temperature during start-up must not exceed 70 ° C, otherwise the engine cannot be started.
- Gas Signal Loss Protection: The controller shuts down the engine immediately if the signal is missing for 0.25 seconds to prevent even more damage and hazards from a fast rotating rotor or propeller. After receiving a normal signal, the controller returns to normal operation.
- Overload protection: The controller shuts down the motor or restarts automatically when its load suddenly becomes very high.
- Overcurrent protection: the controller immediately shuts down the motor if the peak current consumption exceeds the maximum allowable value; then resumes normal operation. If the current consumption still exceeds the maximum permissible value, the motor is completely switched off.
- Description of the controller sockets: (-) (+) R - return channel (to the receiver), (-) (+) S - gas channel (to the receiver), (-) (+) P - programming socket.
Note: When switching on the regulator for the first time, first calibrate the gas range according to the instructions. Only then can the driver be used and other parameters can be set using the transmitter or LED programming card.
