In the second half of the 1990s, Italian designer Pasquale Russo and his team set out to create an ultralight tourist aircraft with excellent flight characteristics, short takeoff and landing capabilities, with a proven classic design that would be economical to operate, easy to build and maintain. They were inspired by the legendary Piper Cub. But during construction, they used state-of-the-art computer technology and the latest knowledge of aerodynamics, the best materials and avionics to create a machine perfect for the early 21st century.
Production of the first Savage series aircraft began in Italy in late 1997 and early 1998. In 1999, production was moved to the Czech Republic. Since then, it has been successfully working at Zlin Aviation s.r.o., where it can rely on the long tradition of the world-famous sports aircraft manufacturer and its experienced staff.
More than 500 Savage Series aircraft have already found customers around the world; the latest model is the NORDEN designed for 115/141/160 hp Rotax® 914, 915 or 916 engines. It offers the installation of a wide range of propellers, avionics and other customized modifications, allowing the pilot to fulfill the dream of a touring aircraft capable of taking off and landing anywhere, anytime, providing the unparalleled flying pleasure inherent in his long-legendary model. And now you can enjoy flying the semi-macro model, this magnificent machine with a wingspan of 1600 mm powered by a powerful AC motor.

The fuselage of the model is made of very durable EPO (extruded polyolefin) foam with detailed internal carbon reinforcements. On the bow is mounted an AC C3548-800 electric motor with a 10x6" three-blade propeller and a KAVAN R-50SB Plus speed controller with a powerful BEC power stabilizer necessary to power the 6 servos on board. On the bow, under the removable cover, you will find enough space for the propulsion battery.

The model's EPO foam wing is two-piece with carbon beams and a carbon fiber tubular link. It is fixed in place with screws. Both the ailerons and two-slot Fowler flaps (with coupled slots on the leading edge) are controlled independently by two servos with short straight cylinders, as well as functional LED position lights. Easily removable carbon-fiber wing struts are held in place by a pair of wire clamps.

The tail surfaces are also made of EPO foam. The rudder and elevator servos are located in the fuselage; the rudders are controlled by short straight cylinders.

The main landing gear is solid duralumin with sprung struts. The tail landing gear is steerable.

The model is powered by a C3548-800 class AC motor with a KAVAN R-50SB Plus 50A regulator.
To power it, you will need a four-cell LiPo with a capacity of 2600-3300 mAh and an endurance of at least 30C. Choose a specific type so that the proper center of gravity position is best for you without further importation.

You can also use a six-channel RC computer kit without special functions to control the model - in the basic version, the ailerons, flaps, rudder are connected to only one channel via a connection board mounted in the cabin area. The board also provides power to the LEDs. The ideal, of course, is to use at least a seven-channel computerized RC kit allowing independent control of ailerons and flaps with two servos, which even inexpensive Radiolink AT9S or AT10II or Futaba T6K or T10J can do today. In this case, the aileron and flap servos must be connected separately (you can use an additional set of wires, which is sold separately). Of course, the manual includes a detailed table with proven default rudder deflection settings to easily prepare the Norden for flight, even if this is your first model with a "fully mechanized" wing.

The ARF kit includes: finished fuselage, EPO foam wing and tail surfaces with motor, propeller, speed controller, 6 servos and LEDs installed, and pictorial instructions.
