Not Only Models is the life story of Stanislaw Kubit - a two-time individual world champion in the class of automatically controlled glider models, winner of many other prestigious titles and awards, coach of the national team.

The author takes us on a journey to his childhood, youth, student years and scientific work at the Silesian University of Technology. He tells of a lifelong passion, which became aircraft modeling. A colorful style and a sense of humor are assets that make the unfamiliar world of aviation model competitions closer to a wider audience.

About the Author:
Doctor of technical sciences, first-class sports coach, former coach of the Polish national model aviation team. Retired academic teacher. Councilman of the city of Gliwice of the current term. He worked at the Faculties of Automation and Transport of the Silesian University of Technology. For a number of years he was president of the "Q-bit" computer software company. Long-time activist of "Społem" PSS Gliwice, currently chairman of the Supervisory Board. For more than forty years, he socially led Gliwice's aeronautical modeling, as part of the Gliwice Aeroclub and the Gliwice Association of Aeronautical Modelers, which for many years has been by far the best modeling club in Poland. Every year, Gliwice modelers win many medals at Polish, European and World Championships, as well as in World Cups. He is a multiple Polish, European and World Champion, and a four-time World Cup winner. He is the author of three books for young people on modeling and many articles in scientific and aviation magazines.

For his achievements in social work, as well as for making Gliwice famous in the national and international arena, in 2010 he was awarded the title of Man of Gliwice Land (Gliwicjusz), and in 2012 the Social Leader of Gliwice.
