Total Butaprem contact adhesive is designed for permanent bonding of wooden materials, plastic boards, rubber, leather, cork, felt, hard PVC, soft foam plastics, metal. The glue joint is flexible and waterproof, so it guarantees a permanent bonding effect.

Recommendations:

  • Glued surfaces must be dry, cleaned from dust, dust, grease and other substances that reduce the adhesion of the adhesive. Clean laminates and metals with a standard solvent (such as gasoline). Additional matting of metal surfaces increases the strength of the bond. Condition glued materials, especially laminated boards, acoustic boards, etc., before processing according to the manufacturer's instructions. Glue only on untreated substrates (natural supports). Matt lacquered surfaces with sandpaper before gluing.
  • Thoroughly spread a thin layer of glue on both glued surfaces with a toothed spatula or short brush. Pay special attention to the edges of the glued material. Do not dilute the adhesive.
  • After applying the glue, leave the glued parts to let the solvent evaporate. Evaporation time at room temperature (18-25°C) is about 10-15 minutes. Pay attention to even evaporation from the entire glued surface. After the evaporation time, gluing is possible in no more than 60 minutes. During the gluing operations, as well as the evaporation of the solvent, adequate ventilation must be provided.
  • The signal for joining two parts is that the adhesive layer is dry to the touch. Carefully prepare the parts to be glued together, because once the two layers of glue are in contact, correction is impossible.
  • Press very firmly on the parts to be glued for several seconds. The strength of gluing is determined by the force of the pressure, not its time. Larger surfaces, laminated boards and metals should be pressed in the press. Depending on the workpiece, pressing with a roller may also suffice. Press from the center to avoid air bubbles. Carefully lubricate with glue and press the edges of the glued surfaces. The initial adhesive strength is so high that the workpiece can be further processed immediately after pressing.
  • Full strength is reached after 24 hours (depending on the temperature and the applied pressure during gluing).
