AERO Sailing Boat BULLSEYE (301300) zam
Our BULLSEYE is modeled after the Herreshoff BULLSEYE of the same name and is therefore a mid-scale model. The design of the model has been adapted from the original design in many places to make construction easier while retaining the good sailing qualities of the BULLSEYE.
Bullseye has the same hull as the 12 ½-foot Herreshoff yacht, as well as two rigging variations. Early boats have gaff sails, while more modern boats have tall sails. The Bullseye's main advantage over its forebear is a wider side deck, larger bow and stern decks and enclosed benches. There is also a version with a slip cabin, but it is not very visually appealing. The Bullseye is still very popular and there is a very active class association and shipyards that continue to build new boats.
What makes the Bullseye better than its ancestor is the wider side deck and enclosed seating benches. This means that when sailing, water won't seep into the cockpit, and there will be less room in the cockpit if it overflows. The result is safe sailing. The model retains the good sailing characteristics of the original. It floats like the big ones, but also wants to be actively steered. To let down, the sails must be opened, and the tack requires tight sails. Gusts must be weeped out by lowering the sheets or sharpening them slightly. This ensures fun sailing and long-term enjoyment of the model, which can be sailed safely up to three Beaufort units. The model also looks lovely and has the potential for your own ideas. There are no transportation problems with the Bullseye either, as it fits in the trunk of a small car, and can be rigged and ready to sail on the lake in less than three minutes.
The kit includes a large, deep-drawn plastic hull, all laser-cut wooden parts for disassembly and assembly, laser-cut sails, mast, hardware, boat stand and 3D building instructions for easy assembly.
