Plasti Dip is a multi-functional air-drying rubber coating. It can be applied by spraying, dipping or painting. Protective coatings are resistant to moisture, acids, abrasion and corrosion. The product does not crumble, it does not crack even in extreme conditions from -34 degrees to +93 degrees. Ideally suited to protect car paints (eg. Plasti Dip colorless). A painted vehicle can be easily washed in touchless car washes or with a sponge at home. It is possible to restore the original color at any time by breaking the coating. Plasti Dip does not damage the varnish, does not react, does not leave traces of glue. The varnish does not need to be cleaned or polished. Rubber is resistant to moisture, abrasion, airing, protects against electric shock, slipping, corrosion, it can be used to cover mechanical, electric, carpentry, gardening or stonework tools, obtaining a comfortable and secure grip in any color.

Technical data:

  • packaging: 200ml can (packaging - packaging without original print)
  • White color
  • coverage: 200ml = 0.15 m2 for a thickness of 0.38 mm

Synthetic rubber can also be used for:

  • definitely in modeling
  • automotive: protection against weather conditions (water, salt), protection against abrasions, scratches, changing the color of the vehicle (outside, inside)
  • wood: preservation, covers and protects against weathering, prevents splinters, gives any color, improves grip
  • metal: reduces vibrations, reduces sounds, prevents corrosion, insulates against electricity and extreme temperatures, prevents the transmission of vibrations, improves the grip
  • glass: partially protects glass objects from shattering, prevents glass splashing
  • textiles: protects against weather conditions, prevents rotting and fraying
  • plastic: protects the surface from scratching, creates a touch-friendly coating, gives any color, improves grip
  • rubber: protects against weather conditions, protects against abrasion and wear
  • transport: protects against damage, scratching and abrasion of transported objects of all types (metals, glass, wood, plastics, etc.)
  • maps: protects against weather conditions, protects against tearing, protects against light

  • Shelf life / storage: at least 1 year at 25 ° C

Chemical resistance:

  • resistant to acids, bases and pollution - excellent
  • crude oil - limited
  • Ideal application temperature: 20-21 ° C

Surface preparation:

  • Mix well before use
  • The surface must be clean, dry, all grease, wax, oil and rust must be removed. To improve the adhesion of the coating, sand it or increase the roughness of the surface. For better results when coating metals, use Primera.
  • Use adequate ventilation

Spray application:

All kinds of equipment with pressure tanks (upper) can be used, lower tanks are not recommended. Dilute with the recommended diluent, as needed, up to 50% (we know from experience that in 99% of cases we dilute 1: 1). Mix gently before application. Wet layers successively, holding the gun 2.5 to 15 cm away from the painted surface, using a 10 cm to 15 cm wide jet. Wait 10 - 12 minutes before applying the next layer. Apply to the desired thickness.

Dipping application:

Dilute with the recommended thinner, as needed, up to 25%. Mix gently before application. Do not allow air bubbles to form (then wait until the air bubbles disappear before submerging). Dip the object 2 cm every 5 seconds. Take out in the same way. Wait 30 - 40 minutes before next dive. Dip until the desired thickness is obtained.

Brush application:

Dilute with the recommended thinner, as needed, up to 25%. Mix gently before application. Apply wet layers successively using a brush with a soft bristle. Wait 10 - 20 minutes before applying the next layer (the surface should be dry to the touch). Apply to the desired thickness.

Recommendations:

The recommended thickness of the layers for the best effect is approx. 0.3-0.4 mm. Approximate layer thickness after drying is: 0.15-0.2 mm when dipping; 0.1-0.13 when applied with a brush; 0.05-0.13 mm when spray applied. Before use, the applied layers should dry for at least 4 hours, if possible, let them dry overnight. When submerging, leave at least 15 cm between the rim of the immersion bath and the level of the rubber to avoid overflow. Avoid excessive air movement, heat and humidity. Always use adequate ventilation and body protection. Let each layer dry for 4 hours.
