A new generation of programmable microprocessor controllers for AC motors without sensors ("brushless, sensorless") designed using the capabilities of state-of-the-art semiconductor technology with excellent performance characteristics while maintaining very simple and user-friendly operation. It is used to control the speed of AC electric motors in recreational aircraft models powered by NiCd/NiMH and LiPo/Li-ion batteries. The regulator is equipped with a powerful pulsed BEC power regulator to provide power to the receiver and servos from the propulsion battery. For easy programming of the regulator, use the Hobbywing LED card, which is offered in our store.

DESCRIPTION AND FUNCTIONS OF THE CONTROLLER

  • The controller features a high-performance 32-bit ARM M4 microprocessor with a clock frequency of up to 96 MHz
  • Optimized DEO (Driving Efficiency Optimization) control technology significantly improves throttle response and power stage control efficiency, lowering the temperature of the controller
  • Suitable for most aircraft engines powered by 3-6S LiPo batteries
  • For power from NiCd, NiMH, LiPo, Li-ion batteries
  • Powerful 5.0V BEC pulse power regulator with up to 5A load capacity
  • Adjustable timing for optimum match to the motor in question
  • Adjustable PCO circuit - disconnects motor when supply voltage drops
  • Normal/soft/very soft starting modes are suitable for both direct drive and geared motors
  • Safe start (prevents the motor from starting when switched on)
  • A number of protective functions: start-up protection, controller thermal protection, capacitor thermal protection, overload protection, overcurrent protection, abnormal supply voltage protection and control signal loss protection effectively extend the life of the controller
  • A special programming cable to connect the controller to the Hobbywing LED programming box allows the user to program the controller anywhere, anytime
  • Throttle range calibration to perfectly match the control signal from the RC platform.

PROGRAMMABLE FUNCTIONS

  • Brake type: Brake off, normal brake (with adjustable braking intensity in 3 steps), reverse brake (allows you to enable reverse operation of the motor through another channel using a switch, the reverse speed of the motor is controlled by the throttle controller) , linear reverse (allows you to enable the reverse of motor operation by another channel with a proportional controller, which is controlled by the reverse speed of the motor)
  • Braking power: Braking intensity can be set to 60, 90 or 100% in "Normal brake" mode
  • Motor disconnection method: Soft disconnection: The controller will gradually reduce power to 60% of full power within 3 seconds after the voltage protection tripped. Hard shutdown: The motor is immediately turned off
  • Number of LiPo cells: We recommend manual setting for 100% reliable voltage protection function. The controller automatically recalculates the number of cells of the connected battery according to the "3.7 volts per cell" rule when auto detection is selected.
  • Voltage protection: The threshold level of voltage protection can be set to 2.8 V/cell, 3.0 V/cell or 3.4 V/cell; protection can also be turned off completely
  • Starting: Normal start (instantaneous), Soft start (with slow start for motors with large propellers, gearboxes or smaller blowers), Very soft start (with very slow start for motors with large propellers, gearboxes or blowers 90 mm and above)
  • Timing: adjustable up to 5, 15 or 25°
  • DEO freewheel: this feature can be turned on or off; it can provide better linearity or smoother throttle response
  • Search mode: can help search for a model that has landed on uncertain terrain - the controller beeps the engine when the throttle is reduced to zero for a specified period of time

CONTROLLER PROTECTION FUNCTIONS

  • Start-up protection: If the engine does not start within 2 seconds after pressing the accelerator, the controller will shut down the engine
  • Thermal protection: If the temperature of the controller exceeds 120°C, the controller will limit the output to 60% (if soft shutdown is set) or completely shut down the motor (if hard shutdown is set)
  • Loss of throttle signal: the controller will limit power if the signal is absent for 1 s; absence of the signal for more than 2 s results in complete disconnection of the motor
  • Overload protection: the controller automatically shuts down the motor or restarts when its load suddenly increases to a very high value
  • Voltage protection: as soon as the voltage of the drive battery falls below the set threshold level, the voltage protection of the controller is activated. The controller will limit the output power to 60% (if soft shutdown is set) or completely shut down the motor (if hard shutdown is set)
  • Incorrectsupply voltage protection: If the drive battery voltage is not within the acceptable range for the controller, the incorrect supply voltage protection will be triggered; the controller will signal the warning with a motor beeping sound

Note: When turning on the controller for the first time, first calibrate the gas range according to the instructions. Only then can you use the controller and set other parameters using the transmitter or LED programmer.

*Follow the instructions included with the product.
