Benefits:

The gas produced during the electrolysis of water in a loaded battery is absorbed and reduced to the electrolyte via electrodes, which makes the battery maintenance-free.

It does not contain any liquid electrolyte as it is retained by the separator and electrodes. During normal operation, the gas is absorbed by the electrodes and does not escape. As a result, the batteries can be used in any position, both in homes and offices.

Excessive load or an incorrect charging method may result in increased gas production. VRLA batteries are equipped with a safety valve that detects the rising internal pressure and allows the excess gas to be expelled to the outside.

The use of lead grids with calcium admixture during construction prevents spontaneous loss of capacity, reducing it from 1/3 to 1/4 compared to a conventional battery with an antimony grid. This significantly extends the shelf life and increases battery life.
