The FDLS-1 receiver backup system provides switching between the primary and backup Futaba S.BUS2 receivers in the event of a signal loss.

A pair of Futaba S.BUS2 receivers (they do not have to be of the same type) are connected to the FDLS-1 via the S.BUS2 ports; the backup system provides a switchover to the backup receiver in the event of signal loss from the transmitter or exposure of the main receiver to strong interference. When normal operation is restored, it switches back to the primary receiver. Telemetry is transmitted by the main receiver.

When using a transmitter that supports the dual receiver function (dual receiver), the main receiver is paired with the transmitter as receiver 1 and the backup receiver as receiver 2. For a transmitter that does not support this function, the main receiver is paired with the transmitter first and the backup receiver second.

FDLS-1 inputs and outputs

Servos, receiver battery and other devices, including gyroscopes, telemetry sensors, etc., are connected to the output of the FDLS-1, so that both receivers are connected only through the S.BUS2 ports - no servos, receiver batteries or other devices are connected directly to the receivers .

Communication S.BUS2 ports for receivers (RX Main, RX Sub): A pair of S.BUS2 ports for connecting the main (Main) and backup (Sub) receivers; both receivers are also powered by them.
S.BUS2 input/output (SBUS) port: For connecting S.BUS2 servos (or classic servos or speed controller via SBD-2 or SBD-3 decoder), receiver battery, telemetry sensors, S.BUS2 gyroscope, etc.
