Characteristics

The Futaba T16SZ is an economical version of the beloved Futaba T18SZ transmitter. 18 channels, color touch screen, telemetry, compatible with all Futaba aviation receivers, long operating time,

The Futaba 16SZ (also T16SZ) high-performance 18-channel RC transmitter for advanced but casual aeronautical modelers. FASSTest, FASST, T-FHSS and S-FHSS modulation, color touch screen, rich software pro RC models of airplanes, gliders, RC helicopters and drones / multicopters. The transmitter has voice output of telemetry data to headphones and integrated telemetry.

Excellent information is that the Futaba 16SZ transmitter is compatible with all Futaba aviation modulations, i.e. FASSTest, FASST, T-FHSS and S-FHSS. Thus, you can use any Futaba aviation receivers for your models. If 100% reliability is needed, use FASSTest modulation. For cheaper models for casual flying, you can use more affordable receivers with T-FHSS or S-FHSS modulation.

The obvious thing is the highest quality transmitter with very rich software perhaps for all possible RC models. The menu is very intuitive - similar to the Futaba 18MZ transmitter. Many controls allow you to control a wide variety of RC model functions exactly according to your own habits and requirements.

Differences between T16SZ and T18Z transmitters
  • Number of digital trimmers: the T18SZ has 6, the T16SZ has only 4 digital trimmers
  • Power battery: T18SZ comes with a 2100mAh LiFe battery, T16SZ has an 1800mAh NiMH battery inserted.
  • Beveled rod positioning: the T18SZ has an adjustable angle, the T16SZ has a fixed angle (90°)
  • Date and time: The T18SZ has the ability to set the date and time in the menu, the T16SZ does not have this function.
  • Gas stick: T18SZ has a shorter gas stick movement and also allows you to set a smooth or stepping transition T16SZ does not have a shorter gas stick movement and only allows stepping.
Properties:
  • The Futaba 16SZ instrument cluster is compatible with all Futaba aviation modulations - FASSTest, FASST, T-FHSS and S-FHSS.
  • Software functions for RC aircraft models, RC glider models, RC helicopters and RC multicopters / drones.
  • 11 cm (4.3 inch) color LCD touch screen.
  • 8 fully programmable flight modes.
  • Integrated telemetry (for T-FHSS and FASSTest modulation), with sensors you can measure temperature, RPM, altitude, current, consumed capacity, distance, speed via GPS, voltage, current, vario and more. Of course, all data can be saved.
  • The internal memory for 30 models is "infinitely" expandable via SD card.
  • Powered by 5 NiMH cells with a capacity of 1800mA. Usage time is about 6 hours.
  • Voice output of telemetry data to headphones (currently only in English)
  • Possibility for user to update transmitter firmware via SD card
  • Two side slide trimmers (sliders), four digital trimmers, 8 switches. All freely assignable.
  • Precision ball-bearing rods
  • Possible student-teacher cable connection, programming of S.BUS and S.BUS2 servos, sensors and decoders
  • Rubberized sides of the transmitter for easier holding
  • Adjustable TFT screen backlighting
  • Vibration and audible alarm
  • Stick calibration
  • Automatic shutdown of the transmitter when not in use for a long time
