In the automotive industry, the Ford T was a legend, and the Piper J-3 Cub became a legend in sports aviation. From the beginning of 1937 to the start of World War II, over 3,000 aircraft were produced. With the advent of military orders for the L-4 Grashopper version, so many of them were produced that on average, every 20 minutes, another plane would "leave" the production line. Some of them can still be seen in the sky today
Our Piper J-3 Cub has been designed to meet the requirements of advanced pilots who like to fly a model in aerobatic mode, but the model is primarily suitable for recreational, relaxing flying, where you can say that even a novice pilot who can handle it has at least several dozen successful flights in the simulator or with the help of a more experienced pilot.
Although the model is not a mock-up, we tried to maintain a realistic appearance, the structure of the model is made of EPP, contains many details, 3D plastic imitations of engines, exhausts and many other elements that make the model very attractive and majestic. Due to the size of the plane and massive fuselage, the model can be used as a tugboat for smaller gliders or as a model for "dropping" parachute jumpers.
The hull structure is a baffle system, and in the kit the hull is fully assembled and reinforced. Virtually all RC electronics can be mounted in the internal prepared space in the fuselage of the model, so it does not spoil the appearance of the plane itself. The rear rudders are glued to the model in a locking system, so settling and gluing is a matter of seconds.
The wings are removable, which makes the model easy to transport.
The two-wheel chassis is spring-loaded, removable, the rear leg is steered and sprung.
You will need at least a four-channel RC radio to control the model, but we recommend the standard 6-channel RC kit, which allows you to independently control and adjust aileron servos, adjust pitch, exponential, etc.
Features:
- model assembly time is approx. 3 hours depending on the skills of the modeller
- the set includes the assembled fuselage, a pair of wings, rudders, plastic parts and complete accessories (wheels, levers, carbon reinforcements ...) needed to assemble the model
- cut parts from plywood
- aesthetically painted model
- excellent volatility
Option:
Additional wing struts can be purchased for the Piper model, which are primarily used to increase the strength of the wings during the so-called tight turns, and also make the model even more impressive in the air. The part designation is: VA-PIPER-TUN1
Technical data:
- span: 1500 mm
- length: 1040 mm
- take-off weight: 880 - 950 g
Recommended equipment (engine, speed controller, power supply, propeller, etc.) can be found on the manufacturer's website (HERE)
