Although externally it retains the features of the original BETA 1400, the KAVAN-branded BETA 1400 is a completely new model with slightly different dimensions, a new wing profile, a new AC motor with folding propeller and a much more sophisticated design. New molds and advances in foam molding technology ensure that all parts are much finer and more precise. The BETA 1400 is an ideal glider for beginner pilots and recreational flying.
The BETA 1400 is a motorized training glider made of high-strength EPO extruded polyolefin, powered by an AC motor.
The fuselage with mounted AC motor (C2814-1400), equipped with KAVAN R-20B regulator and GO-09 rudder and altitude servos, is molded from EPO foam with longitudinal carbon stiffeners. The cabin is mounted with magnetic closures. The two-piece wing is also molded from EPO, the ailerons are controlled by 2 GO-09 servos mounted in the wing. The wing halves are connected by a carbon tube coupler and secured by a bolt on the underside of the wing. Engine cooling is aided by a cooling air supply at the front of the pylon, with cooling air flowing through ducts around the engine housing.
Flight preparation involves only folding the tail surface, fitting the wing halves, connecting the receiver and connecting the propulsion battery. Controls: ailerons, altitude and direction rudder, and motor rotation.
The BETA 1400 comes with a LiPo 11.1V 1600mAh battery. The model will easily "drive" three cells up to about 2200mAh.
The BETA 1400 is suitable for beginners (under the supervision of an experienced pilot), as well as for anyone who simply wants to have fun flying for pleasure.
The RTF kit includes: model with mounted AC motor, 7x6" folding propeller, KAVAN R-20B servo speed controller, RadioLink T8FB BT 2.4 GHz FHSS eight-channel transmitter with R8EF 2.4 GHz FHSS eight-channel receiver, 11.1 V 1600 mAh LiPo battery, quick charger and detailed building and flying instructions.
Note: The T8FB transmitter comes with mode 2 control. If you prefer mode 1, you can easily modify (instructional video below)
