The third album from the MOTO RETRO series presents the fleet of the Second Polish Republic. Poland, having acquired a 140-kilometer section of the Baltic coast after the First World War, immediately focused on the development of the maritime economy. A decision was quickly made to build a seagoing port in Gdynia, merchant ships were bought, and soon, in the 1930s, also passenger transatlantic liners, including the modern m / s "Piłsudski" and m / s "Batory", which were intended to serve the representative Gdynia - New York. Qualified seamen and navigators trained on the sailing ships "Lwów" and "Dar Pomorza". It was in interwar Poland that the Sea Festival was established and it was celebrated with great solemnity throughout the country - from Gdynia to Krakow. The photos come from the National Digital Archives, and the introduction was written by Grzegorz Rogowski, author of the book "Pod polską banderą przez Atlantyk".
