Abachi, also known as cold wood, is a species that grows in the mid-western belt of the equatorial zone of Africa. It is a tree that reaches several tens of meters in height and a trunk diameter of up to more than 2 meters. Abachi's wood structure is similar to beech.

According to botanical atlases, abachi wood varies in color from light yellow to grayish yellow to canary and dark yellow. The grain of abachi wood is interesting because it has large pores, which are visible on the plane as darker irregular lines. The wood is soft, very light, flexible and pliable.
