The popular M4 "380" class 3D helicopter is now available in a new super-powered version, the M4 MAX. The MAX, like the "eM-four," features a 120° CCPM cyclic plate with a "bladeless" rotor head. A new, more powerful AC motor directly drives the 945-mm-diameter main rotor, and the tail rotor on an extended carbon fiber beam is driven by a wider timing belt, ensuring reliable transmission of all that power.

Let's take a closer look at this latest acquisition of the OMP Hobby hangar. The basis of the hull structure is a pair of carbon sidewalls connected by baffles made of duralumin and plastic. "The heart" is a duralumin structure that houses a SUNNYSKY R80-7 AC motor with an attached main shaft housing with bearings and circulation plate servo mounts. The balancing rotor is driven by a 5mm wide toothed belt. The rotor plate and rotor head with blade hardware are CNC-machined metal. All control rods are equipped with screws that allow fine adjustment of rod length without removing ball studs. The rear girder is made of carbon pipe, the vertical stabilizer and sides of the balancing rotor drive housing are also made of carbon fiber. The head and blades of the leveling rotor are made entirely of metal. Deflection is controlled by a servo located in the bottom of the fuselage using a carbon rod. The housing is made of durable fiberglass-reinforced plastic.

The model is equipped with a basic set of 420 mm blades (RotorTech 420 Ultimate) and a balancing rotor.

You will need at least a six-channel RC kit to control the helicopter. For full-fledged classic and 3D flying, you will need a computer transmitter with adjustable 2-3 flight modes with at least five-point curves (for hovering and aerobatics, and a mode for autorotation).

The helicopter is ready for mounting a Flybarless control unit - without problems
most control units suitable for helicopters of this size can be used, such as the "Bavarian Demon 3X" or AXON, Futaba CGY760R or CGY755 and many others.

Of course, high quality, fast and powerful digital micro servos with metal gears should be used.

The electronic speed controller should have a load capacity of at least 80A and a regulator function. An 85A OMP HOBBY controller designed specifically for the M4 MAX helicopter or Hobbywing Platinum PRO 80A V4 etc. are suitable.

You will need a six-cell LiPo 22.2V 2000-2200 mAh battery with 60C load necessary to fully utilize the motor power and capabilities of the helicopter.

The easily removable sport cabin is made of very lightweight durable plastic - there are three color versions to choose from to ensure good visibility and "readability" of the helicopter's position in the air.

The M4 MAX is a "full-fledged" 3D helicopter and requires adequate flying experience. This is not a "drone" to which you just need to add gas and it will take off and "hang" without any interference with the controls. The M4 MAX will "appeal" to advanced pilots who already have a lot of experience in flying helicopters.

The helicopter kit includes: a complete set of mechanical parts, SUNNYSKY R80-7 AC motor, 4 digital servos, 85A speed controller, rotor and tail blades, construction and configuration instructions.

KIT version model for self-assembly.

Dimensions:

  • length: 830 mm
